So I think most of you know we moved to Durham and love it. But, I have to confess that I have quickly become an unmotivated cook. Sometimes I think it's because I don't have a dish washer, and I'm tired or just feeling lazy. It's especially hard when I know that my husband would most likely rather have papa johns pizza delivered anyway? But other days I think.... I just need some new recipes!
The ladies in my Home Group will be doing a recipe exchange soon, and I'm excited about the possibilities! I'm thinking that will surely spur me on to cook more, right? A few things I'm hoping to add to my recipe repertoire are vegetarian dishes and crock pot recipes. I know my husband is not a huge fan of vegetarian food, but I think if I could find just a few recipes that he does like, it would help with respect to our health and our budget. Crock pot recipes are great to always have on hand, especially with larger groups or busy weeks where leftovers are key. If any of you all have any great recipes to share, I sure could use some motivation! I'll try to post a few recipes from the exchange if I find any I really love.

I also confess that I am an unmotivated exerciser. What is up with that? In high school I was super athletic (not necessarily good at any particular sport, but just good at exercising regularly), and even in college I somewhat regularly worked out, even if it was walking to campus or taking a walk with the girls around the loop. After college I trained for a 10K and did great at working out right up until I got engaged. I guess at that point my life got a little chaotic and it seems like it hasn't slowed down since. I have a membership to the YMCA and it's great. It's super close and they even have a lap pool! But, I can't seem to get into a routine that works. I'm hoping that, like my friend heather, by confessing this to the 2 people who read my blog, it might motivate me in some way? Ha. I'll let you know! Any tips or fun workout plans are welcome.
In closing, I do apologize for not keeping this up a little better, but things have been quite busy! Since my last post we went on a vacation which we traveled to Portland, OR and drove the west coast down to San Diego. We managed to have two cars totaled. And, B joined a band. I'm almost done dealing with the insurance companies and banks and we hope to have a new, used, car soon, and perhaps then I'll feel like telling the crazy stories that have been my life in the past month. But I don't want to leave out the fact that God has been amazing, revealing, graceful, merciful, and just plain GOOD to us during it all. He is GOOD!
