8.24.2010

Lord willing, that's the date around which we'll be expecting our first baby! i'm sure for most, this is not "new" news, but i finally have a few pics to post, a little time to write, and something more than morning sickness to share, so i thought i'd update our blog.

today marks the 20 week mark which is half way there. i have to say that i'm pretty excited and thankful to be here! the first few weeks of being pregnant were overshadowed by fear and nausea. by week 7, "morning" sickness, was added to that. by week 10 i felt less nauseous and not sick but just completely exhausted. finally around week 14 i got some energy back, and i started to really think... "wow this is going to happen." i probably didn't begin to "show" until around week 17, and now at 20 weeks i think people can tell i'm expecting. i've had enough friends and family who don't live nearby ask me for pictures, so i decided i'd post one every now and again on here just for them. so here is me at 19.5 weeks:

even better that that picture are a few of our baby. our ultrasound technician was really great, and she didn't hint one bit at what the gender of our baby is. i think i almost wished she'd accidentally say it, but i'm glad she didn't. i'm so excited for the birth day surprise! brentley and i are still kicking around names, and although we don't have them set in stone yet, we're still not planning to share them until the baby is born. can you tell we just love the suspense and anticipation?

the ultra sound technician said our baby looked great but there was one concern with one of the kidneys being a bit large, so if you'd like to pray for that, we'd appreciate it. the technician said that was a really common thing they saw and normally it turns out to be nothing at all. we'll know a little more in 12 weeks or so.

this is a picture of our baby's little tar heels! i love this picture! the whole time we were in the office watching our baby move around, i just imagined the first time i'll get to tickle and touch and kiss it's little feet! i'm going to guess that baby has brentley's feet because his feet are cute... unlike mine =)

this picture is a profile shot, which was kind of hard to get. he/she was moving around a lot during the appointment and appears to be camera shy. the baby's chest is to the left and his neck and face are in the center. again i realize these are fuzzy, but trust me, baby cobb is a cutie.

this last one is my favorite! i told you baby was moving around a lot (much like dad was in the chair beside me). but catching him/her throwing us a "whats up" kind of sign was so funny! the face is completely blurred out because he/she moved away, but still, i just know this kid is going to be so chill!

we feel extraordinarily blessed by God at this time, and we are so grateful for His mercy and kindness. thanks to those of you who have been praying for this baby. we covet your prayers!!!
