Tag is learning how to play with other kids. It's seems like a no brainer, but for him it's not. He has a tendency to be quite rough, and he even bites! He's so curious about faces. He loves to touch the nose and eyes and mouth and teeth on everyone. Except some of his touches are like slaps or pokes--not malicious though, just excitement gone wrong! Too bad other babies can't tell that he's just excited! We're working on "being gentle," and "no biting" already. He's only 10 months, too?! When does this phase end... anyone??
I'm looking forward to real play dates soon, and I know the more Tag is around other kids the faster he'll learn. It sounds like he's crazy wild (and he is, a little), but really he is the sweetest baby. He enjoys curling up in my lap while I read to him, especially if it involves touching the fur (Touch and Feel Animals Book) or putting his finger through mummy's ring (Pat the Bunny). He really enjoys being around other kids and lights up with interest at their activity. I can tell he will be just like his dad in that he gets energy from being around people. He is totally an extrovert. Now I just need to learn how to harness his energy and excitement for good!
This month, I hope to add some more structure to his day. A friend of mine told me about swim lessons at the Y which I'd like to try-- they're on the weekend. Also, I hope to get Tag to some of the library activities since we're SO close (maybe a mile). Any other suggestions of things I could do to add some pizazz to his day? I feel like he gets cabin fever some days and by 4 pm is just over every activity we have at home. With me working full time, getting out is tough, but I hope to find activities that he can do with his sweet care taker, Julia.
Oh, and I think soon I'm going to try to post a few "day in the life" posts like Kelly's Korner did last week-- and you all should too!! I really enjoyed seeing what her week looks like. Though I know mine will be much different, I think I'll be glad I documented life with Tag while working full time.
Coen is a good buddy.
He puts up with a lot from Tag, and more often than not, they can play happily together!
A few weeks ago Tag and his cousin, Hannah, got to play together. Hannah was a good play partner because she's tough like Tag!
(couldn't seem to get this photo to upload correctly?)
And last weekend we had Bradley over. Bradley is pretty cool because he has an older brother!
