Before Story.

I didn't want to forget the week going into Story's birth, so I'm back tracking a bit.  In hindsight, I don't consider it that difficult, but I know in the moment I thought I was at my wits end.

Thankfully, Tag got his cast taken off after four weeks rather than six--answer to prayer!  Towards the end of his time in the cast, he was able to crawl, pull himself up, and walk while holding on to things.  Once he got his cast off though, he was super hesitant.  He wouldn't walk independently for several days.  In fact, he would barely stand the first few days.  When he laid down on his back, he would position his legs just like they were in the cast-- that was crazy!

His first day of PMO (Parent's Morning Out) was the Wednesday after his cast was removed (Monday).  We only left him a few hours and he did so great!  The teachers were terrific with him, and something about being in the class surrounded by the kids made him forget about his cast and he started walking a bit!  It was so exciting to see him walking independently again.

That evening, I began having contractions around 11pm and Story was born about 24 hours later.  Crazy!

Tag eating in the booster chair.  His right leg is propped up over the side, and I have a shirt tied around him to keep him in.

Tag getting back to his old mischievous self.

Tag just before the cast was removed.

A little scared, but he really does so well with doctors!

Once his cast was off, he was so afraid of standing.

Tag headed to his first day at Duke Memorial!

It's good to be back!

 A few days before Story came!

Psalm 121
1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
   where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the LORD,
   the Maker of heaven and earth.  3 He will not let your foot slip—
   he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel
   will neither slumber nor sleep.
 5 The LORD watches over you—
   the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day,
   nor the moon by night.
 7 The LORD will keep you from all harm—
   he will watch over your life;
8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going
   both now and forevermore.

We just went to his 6 week check up and the doctor said it is about a half centimeter shorter than the right leg.  The concern is that the left leg (which was the broken one) will over grow the right one. If you think of it, please pray this doesn't happen and that they both grow evenly for the rest of his life!

As I said, I don't remember this being as difficult as I'm sure it was in the moment.  But, this trial was proof positive to me that the Lord's provision meet us in our time of need.  He sustained me in every way.  He healed Tag's leg.  His timing in bringing us our sweet Story was perfect!  God is good!
